Your Valentine’s Homemade Mocktails and Desserts.

No Money for Valentines people? There’s still Hope for you and your significant other. I and a friend of mine got together to make some items that can save you when penny-less and make your valentine a remarkable one. Stay to the end and learn how you can make homemade ice cream and a mock-tail for your significant other.

Chocolate Ice Cream

  1. Vanilla ice cream
  2. Milo
  3. Banana
  4. Strawberry
  5. Coconut

The ingredients for this ice cream is not far fetched. You probably have all or most of the ingredients in your pantry and fridge! So give it a try.

Procedure: To make the chocolate ice cream, frozen simple vanilla ice cream of any brand can be used as a base. Add four heavy spoons of vanilla ice cream. After which you add an equal amount of frozen bananas to the vanilla ice cream; about 2 frozen bananas in this case. To give it that chocolate flavour, add about 3 spoons of a chocolate drink of your choice. We however used Milo. Add just a handful of strawberries and a piece of coconut. Blend and serve. You may choose to sprinkle pieces of cashew nuts or pop a cherry on top.

Creamy Banana Ice cream:

  1. Bananas
  2. Milk
  3. Coconut
  4. Strawberries
  5. Cashew nuts

Procedure: Creamy Banana Ice cream is as simple as can be. Firstly, cut some bananas up and freeze. When ready, place a chunk of frozen banana for a serving size of two (2) which would equate to about four (4) fresh bananas, with about two (2) spoons of powdered milk (depending on how much you like the taste of milk). Add some chopped coconut, few strawberries and a hand full of cashew nuts. Blend together until smooth and you are almost done. Serve out the ice cream and sprinkle some crushed cashew and coconut as desired.

Which better way to crown up a dinner, than a nice glass of well made Chapman! And yes, you can make this at home too.

Get an bottle of freshly squeezed orange juice or store bought if you prefer. Add about two to three spoons of lemon juice or squeeze in half a lemon to your orange juice and throw in lemon back. Add few slices of cucumber too. Proceed by adding half a cup of fanta to the mix and three full spoons of grenadine syrup. Grenadine syrup can be found at most supermarkets. Cut your cucumber and slide on your glass. Voila, your Chapman! Enjoy.

Strawberry Sprite Mocktail

An alternative to Chapman can be a strawberry sprite mocktail. And guess what? Its just as easy to make!

  1. Strawberries
  2. Sprite
  3. Lemon juice
  4. Water.

Blend a pack of strawberries with little water and a dash of lemon juice. After blending sieve mixture to make the drink smoother. Add a cup or two of sprite and your drink is done. Split a strawberry in two and slide on your glass to get that ‘bar’ look. Serve with ice.
